Antique 18th-century wrought iron wolf collar, entirely hand-forged.

These collars were used on guard dogs and sheepdogs in rural European areas prone to wolf attacks. The reinforced structure and large external prongs were designed to prevent direct bites to the animal's neck, protecting its vital area during attacks.

This piece features a particularly intricate and striking construction, composed of movable elements, forged rings, shaped bands, and hand-hammered pyramidal spikes. The irregular ironwork, the antique welds, and the strong presence of material testify to authentic artisanal production.
