An exceptional boxwood sculpture depicting a skull with a snake and a salamander on an hourglass.

The impressive thing is that the sculpture was carved perfectly from a single piece, with no pieces assembled together.

It is certainly a unique and unparalleled piece, crafted with the intent of fully representing the Memento Mori theme.

Probably of German-Italian origin and likely from the 19th century.

Dimensions: approximately 20 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm (7.9" x 2.5" x 2.5")
