A rare sculpture depicting a chained demon, cast in solid bronze in Italy in the early decades of the 20th century (circa 1920–1930).

The figure is depicted kneeling on a solid base, with outstretched wings and a chain tightened around the torso. The modeling displays a synthetic and rhythmic stylistic language, with parallel incisions that structure the surface and lend a strong sculptural character.

The iconography of the imprisoned demon recalls Symbolist influences and a taste for the fantastic, typical of European figurative culture between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with affinities to the esoteric and theatrical imagery prevalent in the Art Deco and Post-Symbolist movements.

The sculpture is signed "Conte Venuz" on the base (attribution to be further investigated). High-quality casting, substantial weight (22 kg), and excellent three-dimensional presence.

This work is exhibited in the "Stregherie" exhibition in Padua, dedicated to magical and demonological imagery.

Excellent overall condition with normal signs of aging. Uniform dark patina. Hollow base with visible internal fittings.
