The thick and heavy fabric features a rich symmetrical decoration created using an applied embroidery technique, typical of processional and funerary vestments intended for ceremonial use.

The iconographic program is extremely legible and complete, attributable to the symbolism of the 19th-century confraternities of the Good Death and the Blessed Sacrament.

The design repeatedly features skulls inserted into circular medallions, inverted torches with flames, a winged hourglass, a central ornamental cross, racemes, and symbolic plant motifs.
