Finely carved elephant ivory sculpture (Elephantidae spp.), depicting a Corpus Christi of great expressive intensity, characterized by a deliberately archaic language reminiscent of medieval Romanesque models.

The work is distinguished by:

the dramatic, skeletal rendering of the body

the accentuated anatomical tension

the highly expressive, almost visionary face

the incised workmanship across the entire surface, creating a vibrant texture.

Particularly notable is the exceptional size of the ivory block used, an extremely rare element for this type of sculpture.It features antique iron nails, with consistent oxidation.
