A beautiful Memento Mori sculpture in glazed terracotta.

A life-size skull-shaped tobacco holder with a lizard on the side and a toad on top of the lid. These two animals are often associated with the theme of death.

The piece features some small losses and repairs and a beautiful original patina, making it unique and highly decorative.

Dimensions: 20 x 17 x 13 cm (7.9" x 6.7" x 5.1"), 19th century.
