Exceptional example of Wunderkammer taxidermy with a composition between the head of a triggerfish and a scorpion fish.

The head of the triggerfish is closed by a large and important lens that allows you to see a scorpion fish inside that seems to be suspended in space which makes the fish rotate and tilt.

Both fish have glass eyes. The composition is suspended from a metal support.

Italy, late 19th century.

Height approximately 40 cm (15,7 inches)
