Polychrome terracotta sculpture with Memento Mori theme.

In this impressive sculpture probably from the late 19th century, the Memento Mori theme is treated with the main depiction not of the usual skull but of a decomposing man's head. Here we also have a multiple representation of other significant objects that embellish the work and its meaning. We have a book which is the base of the sculpture, a snake coming out of the mouth of the head, we have a key, some coins, an hourglass and some dice.

Special observation: the key and the columns of the hourglass are made of iron, therefore it can be deduced that the key is a real forged iron key from the 17th century.
