Painting on canvas with MEMENTO MORI theme.

A seventeenth-century scene with three main characters. In the center we have a distinguished, probably middle-class man sitting with a scared and surprised face. On his left a skeleton, Death, enters the scene and shows him an hourglass. On the right we have an angel touching him on the shoulder. And at the bottom a sentence in Italian that says it all: THINK ABOUT THE END.

It has some small conservative restorations and lightening of the colour, which was probably much darker and more sombre originally.

Italy 17th century.Dimensions with frame 60 x 45 cm (23 and 1/2 x 17 and 1/2 inches).

Canvas size only 52 x 38 cm (20 and 1/2 x 15 inches)
